ANOTHER Controversial Tweet from a Christian Leader! [Religion/Politics]

I don’t know if you’ve heard the news, but another individual with a huge platform in the Christian world has said something that is ruffling some serious feathers.  When is it going to stop?!  When are Christian leaders going to start being held accountable for the things that they say?!  I can’t believe this latest episode.  Word to the wise, if you’re going to open a Twitter account make sure you think hard before you click “send.”

This latest controversy takes the cake.  Word is several important and influential people are demanding this guy’s head on a platter.  If you don’t follow him yet, you can find him on Twitter by searching @JBaptist.

The controversy started earlier this week when he had the gall to blast one of the national political leaders about his personal life.  If you have a weak stomach, I would stop reading now.  The blogosphere has exploded as everyone from Gamaliel to Annas to Caiaphas is weighing in.  Every Pharisee, Sadducee, and teacher of the Law has an opinion on this one.

If you missed it, this is what appeared just three days ago on @JBaptist’s timeline:

“@HerodAntipas: It is not lawful for you to have your brother’s wife #Leviticus20:21”

The verdict is still out on whether or not anything will come of this.  Most people are saying that @HerodAntipas is sympathetic to @JBaptist, and maybe even feels some conviction about his lifestyle choices.  Who knows?  I’ll try to stay up on the story as it develops.  I’ll definitely give updates this Sunday as we examine Mark 6:14-29 @lpcvancouver.

    Very cool approach!!!

  2. A concerned brother says:

I don’t know, I heard Herod is not that bad of a guy, a little left of center. but still an ok guy to follow. John should go easy on him and not be so dang one sided. “I’m just sayin”.

  3. Heather says:

Awesome! I do appreciate your sense of humor, Pastor!

  4. Very clever and catchy, I’d say! Loved it! Just makes the Bible, as it is, totally up to date and that human nature has stayed the same–unless changed by the power of God!
    Thank you.
