SURGE

untitled2013 will begin with a surge at LifePoint Church.

A Surge; noun

1. a strong, wavelike, forward movement, rush, or sweep.

2. a strong, swelling, wavelike volume or body of something.

Our goal is to surge forward into a year where we believe God is going to hit the throttle in and through our church.

To Surge; verb

1. to rise, roll, move, or swell forward in or like waves.

2. to rise as if by a heaving or swelling force.

How will this look?  There are three aspects to our surge at LPC.  We will be kicking off the year, during first full week of January (6-12) with a week of prayer, fasting, and reading of Scripture.

Pray:

We will be casting vision and prayer-focuses for the year the first week of January, and joining in prayer together corporately at our prayer/communion worship gathering on Wednesday January, 9 @ 7pm.

Fast:

We are calling the LPC family to fast together January 6-9.  You can pray about how you will approach this fast, but we will break it together with communion on Wednesday night, January 9 at the worship gathering.

Read:

We have set a goal of reading through the entire Bible in a week, out loud, from the pulpit, in our main auditorium to kick off the year.  Reading will begin with Genesis 1:1 on Sunday afternoon, January 6 at 1pm and will continue all week until we have completed the entire Bible.  You can sign up for a half hour slot in the church lobby over the next 3 weeks.  Bible reading will begin each day at 5am (in the main auditorium), and continue until 10pm each night, without interruption, until we get through Revelation 22:21.

Embrace the surge at LifePoint Church as we prepare for an amazing year together on the mission with Jesus!
