A Prayer

This Sunday morning I’m preaching Philippians 1:8-11.  I pray through my text every single week.  What I mean by “pray through it” is that I meditate on it, I usually memorize it, and I pray for clarity and wisdom in preparing to preach it to the people God has placed in my care.  The cool thing about this text is that I’ve been able to pray through it, as well as pray it for the people who make up LifePoint Church.

Here it is:

Philippians 1:8-11
For God is my witness, how I yearn for you all with the affection of Christ Jesus

9 And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment

10 so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ,

11 filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.

Would you do me a favor?  Whether or not you are a part of LifePoint Church, would you read that text one more time?  As you’re reading it a second time would you offer it up as a prayer to God for LifePoint Church in Vancouver, WA?
