Talk Some Church: Kick-off Tomorrow Night

What are your Wednesday night plans for the next six weeks?  If you attend LifePoint Church, I invite you to come out and join us for Talkin’ Church: Gear Up 2012; taking place the next six Wednesday nights at LPC.  We’ll kick it off at 7pm in the Main Auditorium tomorrow night.

There are several things we’re hoping to accomplish through these times together.  We believe 2012 is going to be an exciting year of development and transformation within our church, and these forums will be the first glimpse into some of the things we’re praying through.  I’ll be teaching on the subject of “the church,” delving into everything from the definition of “church,” to leadership structures within it, vision and mission, the need for transformation, discipleship, membership, etc.  Over six weeks we’ll answer questions like:

“What is the church?”
“Who owns the church?”
“Why does it exist?”
“How should it be led?”
“Is change really necessary?”
“What is the mission of the church?”
“What is the mission of this church?”
“How do we accomplish that mission?”

These are only a few of the dozens of questions that will be addressed in this valuable time.  The teaching will not simply be general principles of ecclesiology (the study of the church), but specific application to our local church family at LifePoint.

We begin this week: Tomorrow, January 4, 2012 at 7pm.

Tomorrow’s teaching: “Taking Ownership without Stealing Glory.”

If you cannot make it to these Wednesday nights, please contact the LPC office, video and audio recordings will be made available.  Youth and children’s activities will continue as normally scheduled, but all adult classes will pause as we meet together in the Main Auditorium.
